Flow rate recommendations and potential savings

It is very difficult to establish the optimal flow rate for taps and showers. There are many influential factors, such as line pressure and the exact application area. Moreover, many countries have set flow rate regulations that vary greatly from one to another. Singapore, for example, considers a flow rate between 2.0 and 4.0 l/min for washbasins most efficient, whereas the European WELL label awards its highest efficiency rating for a flow rate between 4.0 and 6.0 l/min.

How much water can you save?

It is even more difficult to calculate the exact savings one can expect by using water-saving products for the washbasin, shower or elsewhere. One important factor is of course the flow rate prior to retrofitting a water-saving device. With flow-restricting products, this rate changes whenever the line pressure changes.
